Four long time friends have a reunion dinner once a month at their favorite Chinese restaurant in Camden, NJ. Set in 1997, we see the neighborhood is now dangerous but these friends come back monthly. Mr. Wong, the owner, this evening has a surprise for them. He has listened to their stories and conversations for ten years and tonight he has made them a very special dessert. He has written fortunes for them and, through his own magic, wants to give them their dreams. He sprinkles the cookies with his “magic powder” and goes to give this magical gift to his friends. But, as he brings the cookies in he accidentally trips and mixes up the cookies. We then see what happens when the long time friends live each other’s dreams. “Sometimes the dream we dream is not the dream that has been dreamed for us”. It is a funny, sad and beautiful story of friendship, dreams, and magic.
