CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY, May 12, 2021 – South Camden Theatre Company and the Waterfront South Theatre in Camden, NJ, are proud to announce a new music event performed by the band, John Gilbride & Friends. This new show is titled, “LIVE AT THE WATERFRONT SOUTH THEATRE.”

John Gilbride is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who fuses Folk, Rock and Funk into great new songs. John released his first full length album “Paved Roads” in 2019. John brings together an eclectic blend of collaborators from around the region to form his band, John Gilbride & Friends. This group brings John’s music and lyrics to life with undeniable personality and a high energy stage show. He and the band are excited to be back in 2021 to help breathe

new life into the return of the arts after a 14-month pandemic hiatus.

This new 60-minute music event will be available FREE to watch and enjoy with friends on Facebook® LIVE, Wednesday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. The show can be viewed from the co-hosted event page on South Camden Theatre Company and John Gilbride’s Facebook pages. If you can’t join us live, we’ll also be hosting additional viewing times after the live event on Facebook.

South Camden Theatre Company’s vice-president, Jordan Feld arranged this live-streamed music event after chatting with John during a pandemic “happy-hour” where John was providing the music for the event on Zoom. “We’re always looking for new ways to make use of South Camden’s Waterfront South Theatre when we don’t have live theatre on stage. Our 99-seat auditorium is the perfect space for music, poetry, theatre — all kinds of live entertainment.”

Robert Bingaman, the theatre’s board president said, “We are excited to also announce that the Company will be moving to live, in-person theatre events beginning in September. We’ll be presenting two 2021 season productions on-stage this coming fall.”

“With more people being vaccinated and the Governor allowing spaces like ours to seat more people, we’re looking forward to welcoming our guests back to watch both “Daphne’s Dive” by Quiara Alegrîa Hudes and “The Brothers Size” by Tarell Alvin McCraney live on our stage.” Of course, we’ll still be watching out for your safety and following CDC guidelines. You can learn more about these events on the theatre company’s website at: www.southcamdentheatre.org
