A moving drama laced with humor and heartache, A GOOD FARMER is the story of two women—a farm owner and her unlikely best friend, an illegal Mexican immigrant—fighting to survive in a small town divided by America’s immigration battle. This play addresses a highly relevant and contentious issue that is currently a topic of debate all across America. It is also a play about love, friendship, and discovering the strength to confront what divides us.

Neena Boyle (Bonnie Johnson)

Neena is so grateful to return to the SCTC stage for the second time this season, having just appeared as Grace Wheeler in How The Light Gets In. William McHattie (David Johnson)
He/Him
William is thrilled to be returning to SCTC for the second time! His first, as one of the dudes in The Toxic Avenger. He has previously been seen at The Candlelight Theatre (Escape to Margaritaville, Moon Over Buffalo), Sidequest Theatre (Fellowship!), South Camden Theatre Company (Toxic Avenger: The Musical), and Casa Buena Cultural Productions (Beirut). When not on stage, he can be seen playing Rock and Roll in the local Philadelphia area as Billy McHattie. Mmmkay I love you, but bye!

Natalie Payán (Carla Gutierrez)
She/Her
Natalie is delighted to make her New Jersey theatre debut with South Camden Theatre Company! Her vibrant career has taken her from the Galápagos Islands to Off-Broadway, bringing a rich breadth of experience both onstage and behind the scenes. Most recently, she directed Boleros for the Disenchanted at PCS Theatre, where she will return this fall to direct The Thanksgiving Play. Favorite acting credits include Agnes in She Kills Monsters (Colonial Playhouse), Wiñaya/Garcilaso in Felipillo (Beacon Theatre Productions), and Jo in a bilingual adaptation of ADULTS. This performance earned her the 2023 National Women’s Theatre Festival Outstanding Performer Award.
Natalie is also an accomplished costume designer, honored with an ariZoni Theatre Award nomination and a KCACTF finalist recognition. She is passionate about uplifting Latiné stories through theatre and is a proud member of the Philly Latiné Theatre Alliance (@philatinetheatre). She extends heartfelt thanks to audiences for supporting local art and engaging with this timely and resonant story. A special shout-out to her partner, Floyd, whose full-hearted support fuels her artistic journey.

Angie Goode (Lu/Shirley Sender)
She/Her
Angie is an actor based in Philadelphia, PA. She credits her training to Freedom Theater and Temple University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. She received acclaim for performances in dozens of productions in some of Philadelphia’s top theaters, including Walnut Street Theater, Play and Players Theater, The Arts Bank, The Proscenium, Allens Lane Theater, and The Suzanne Roberts Theater. On Camera, Goode can currently be seen as Grandma in the thriller, You Were Dead Yesterday, and as Dr Miriam Dutton in the web series, STAGES. There, she plays a passionate therapist who has suffered a significant loss. The film highlights the struggles and triumphs of living with HIV. She also appeared as Madam, a registered nurse by day and a human trafficker by night, in the film Emancipation Of Myia Coffee. This project shines a light on the horrific world of human trafficking.
Goode has pursued directing, stage management, character development, and theater ministry for young people. She remains a willing participant in helping others pursue their dreams while discovering her own. Goode believes that the Arts are healing.

Leah O’Hara (Rosemary Devlin)
She/Her
Leah is excited to be making her debut here at South Camden Theatre Company as Rosemary. Some of her favorite rolls have been Mrs. Van Dann in “The Diary of Anne Frank” and Mrs. White in “Clue” at The Players Club of Swarthmore; Inez Serrano in “No Exit” and Juror #8 in “Twelve Angry Jurors” at The Village Players of Hatboro; Romaine in “Witness for the Prosecution” and Beatriz in “Much Ado About Nothing” at The Stagecrafters; Jessie in “Sweat” and Mrs. Kendall in “The Elephant Man” at Old Academy Players; and Ileen in “Rasheeda Speaking” at Allens Lane Theater. She would like to thank Scott for giving her this fantastic opportunity. And thank you to her wonderful family for always supporting her and strengthening her wings so she can fly. Love you guys!

Ryan Michael-Henzes – Gabe

Ryan is excited to be making his South Camden Theatre Company debut with A Good Farmer. Previous roles include Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire, Gary in I Hate Hamlet, Jason in Sweat, Professor Plum in Clue: On Stage, Cole in Keely and Du, and Spike in Sonya, Vanya, Masha and Spike. Ryan also does Murder Mystery Theatre with Without A Cue Productions. Ryan would like to thank his mom for her never-ending love and support.

T. Patrick Ryan (Rich Parks)
He/Him
T. returns to the South Camden Theatre stage after being part of its inaugural production, “Last Rites.” T. was also the assistant director of our production of The Miss Firecracker Contest. T. has appeared with various theaters in the Philadelphia area as an actor and director, including Allens Lane, Narberth Community Theater, Drama Group, Forge Theatre, and Playcrafters of Skippack. T. studied theater at Ohio University with Leah Walton for Advanced Acting at Walnut Street Theatre. An Ohio native, T. worked in repertory with Reality Theater in Columbus. He appeared on the soap All My Children and in films Mischief and Asylum. At home, he is a professional cat wrangler with his adopted guys, Blaze and Puck.
Melody G. Moore – Stage Manager
She/Her
Melody recently relocated to Philadelphia after spending over 20 years in Key West, Florida. With her husband, Bob, she founded TheatreXP, which the two built into one of the leading companies in Key West and the Keys, producing, directing, and acting in plays that ranged from the comedic to the serious, as well as creating several successful theatrical events. Both were directly involved in all aspects of the thriving theater community, including Stage Manager, Box Office Manager, Actor, Set Dresser, Costume Designer, Prop Designer, Writer, Director, and Producer. Locally, she has SM’d for Fever Dream Repertory, TheatreXP, and First World Theatre as well as South Camden Theatre Company’s most recent productions, which include God of Carnage, Hollywood, Nebraska, and How The Light Gets In. She is looking forward to helping bring this timely and meaningful play to fruition. Break a leg, everyone!
Meet the Director and the Playwright

Scott Grumling – Director
He/Him
Scott returns to South Camden Theatre Company after directing By The Water in September 2018. Previously, he also directed The Miss Firecracker Contest, the one-act play D-Day, Again for South Camden’s Shadows of War, and was a member of the cast of That Championship Season (James Daley). Scott has performed and directed in amateur and professional theaters in venues such as the New England Conservatory and the Boston Center for the Arts. Scott has twice won best actor at the ACT/CONN Annual Drama Festival. Favorite acting credits: Dr. Haggett, The Late Christopher Bean, Alan Turing, Breaking the Code; Arthur Kipps, The Woman in Black; Philip Mauritius; Georgina Pritt, The Temp; Judas, Godspell. Favorite directing credits: Philadelphia area premieres of Rasheeda Speaking and The Busy World is Hushed; Wit; Two Rooms; 26 Pebbles, Agnes of God; Massachusetts state premiere of Labor Day. Special thanks to playwright Sharyn Rothstein for her generosity and support, as well as the beautifully written, timely, and essential stories she has created that I have been allowed to interpret and bring to life.

Sharyn Rothstein —Playwright

An award-winning playwright, television writer and copywriter.
Sharyn’s plays and musicals have been produced around the country, as well as internationally. Her adaptation of the beloved film Hester Street premiered at Washington D.C.’s Theater J in the Spring of 2024 (featuring music by Joel Waggoner), followed by the premiere of her book-banning drama Bad Books at Round House Theatre in 2025.
Her play By the Water, about a Staten Island family dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, was first produced by Manhattan Theater Club and Ars Nova, and was the recipient of the American Theater Critics Association Francesca Primus Prize. By The Water was also produced at SCTC in 2018. Her family comedy All the Days, was produced at the McCarter Theater Center, directed by Emily Mann, and her technology drama, Right to Be Forgotten, premiered at Arena Stage, directed by Seema Sueko, and was produced in Chicago at the Raven Theater in 2023. Her audio drama, Deep Fake, was released on Audible in 2022.
Sharyn has been a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Youngblood, Ars Nova’s Playgroup, the WP Theatre Lab and the New American Writer’s Group at Primary Stages. She is a Hermitage Artist Retreat Fellow, and a four-time winner of the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. She has received new play commissions from Williamstown Theatre Festival, Manhattan Theater Club, and Ensemble Studio Theatre, among others. Her plays have been published by DPS, Samuel French, Playscripts, and others.
Sharyn is an accomplished television writer and producer. She is currently a writer and Co-Executive Producer on Orphan Black: Echoes, the spin-off of the sci-fi hit Orphan Black, soon to be on AMC. She was a writer/producer for the USA legal drama SUITS for many years, and has developed shows for Apple, AMC, and Bravo. Sharyn holds an MFA in dramatic writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Master’s in Public Health from Hunter College. She teaches television writing at NYU.
Meghan Malloy -Production Manager)
She/Her
Meghan is a multi-hyphenate artist. She is thrilled to work with South Camden Theatre Company in this capacity! Meghan holds a BFA in Acting from Point Park Conservatory. A Barrymore-nominated actress, Meghan has worked with many regional theaters (locally: Walnut, Wilma, Arden, InterAct, Montgomery) and on national tours. Meghan currently coaches dialects for actors and productions. Additionally, Meghan teaches actors both film and theater techniques through The Actors Lab in Wayne, PA, and Lights, Camera, Acting! in Bucks County, PA. Hunter Mountz – Lighting Designer

Hunter is a Philadelphia-based theatre and dance lighting designer whose previous design credits include The Lightning Thief (Triple Threat Theatre Company), Who’s Holiday, The Toxic Avenger – The Musical, God of Carnage, Hollywood Nebraska, and How The Light Gets In (South Camden Theatre Company) Into the Woods, The Laramie Project, Bedroom Farce (Salem State University) Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Mamma Mia! , The SpongeBob Musical (Panthers-on-Parade) Dare to Dream, and When Worlds Collide (SSU Repertory Dance Theatre). Hunter also received the Excellence in Lightning Design award from the 2021 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Louise Gareau – Costume Designer
She/Her
Louise recently joined SCTC’s creative team after working as a costumer for her music teacher’s daughter’s productions. She’s delighted to be spreading her wings with our work on stage. Starting out with the recent production of The Toxic Avenger was quite an effort. She’s also costumed How The Light Gets In for the theatre’s 20th Anniversary Season of Love.
Pam Staley – Props
She/Her
Pam is delighted to work in theatre with her friend Dawn Varava at SCTC. Her past experiences included managing props and all things backstage for Dawn during many of her school productions. She has been jumping in to help SCTC be the best we can be for all of our shows.
Robert Bingaman – Scenic Design
He/Him
Robert is so thankful for all the support he receives from the creative staff and the South Camden Theatre Company board. He is SCTC’s board president and resident scenic designer, and he also wears many other hats. His favorite sets include The Brothers Size, By The Water, The Toxic Avenger, Exorcism (A Play In One Act), The Legend of Georgia McBride, How The Light Gets In – (Thanks to Deb and crew for all the help), and many more. He knows that he couldn’t do any of this work without the incredible support of so many volunteers. Thanks to each of them for bringing theatre magic to our stage.
